Its net income and EPS (earnings per share) rose to $80.3 million and $0.28, respectively, in fiscal 1Q16, compared to $77.2 million and $0.26, respectively, in fiscal 1Q15.

Gentex’s cash and cash equivalents and inventories rose by 13.6% and 8.0%, respectively, in fiscal 1Q16 compared to fiscal 4Q15. Its current ratio fell to 5.4x in fiscal 1Q16 compared to 7.5x in fiscal 4Q15.

Projections

The company has projected light vehicle production based on IHS automotive:
