Don MacIntyre , Ph.D., P.Eng. Joins Torch Board

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 6, 2012) - Torch River Resources Ltd. ("Torch" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:TCR.V - News) (FRANKFURT:WNF) (PINK SHEETS:TORVF.PK - News) announces that Don MacIntyre Ph.D., P.Eng. has joined the Corporation's Board of Directors. Dr. Pfaffenberger, President of Torch says: " Dr. MacIntyre's professionalism, knowledge of the geology of British Columbia mineral deposits, and work history will definitely support the growth of the Corporation."

Dr. MacIntrye has been a registered Professional Engineer with the BC Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists since 1979. He was with the Geological Survey Branch of the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines as a project geologist. Over a 25 year career with GSB, Dr. MacIntrye was responsible for a number of geological mapping and mineral deposit projects mostly in northern British Columbia. Areas included the Gataga SEDEX district of the Northern Rockies, the Tatshenshini district of the St. Elias Range and the Tahtsa Lake, Smithers and Babine Lake districts of Central BC. These projects focused on defining the geologic setting and genetic controls associated with a diverse range of mineral deposit types including porphyry Cu-Mo, SEDEX, VMS, polymetallic veins and epithermal Au-Ag.

Dr. MacIntyre also helped develop the GSB's digital mapping systems, especially those dealing with regional mapping and mineral potential evaluations. In 2004 he took early retirement from the GSB and started his own geological consulting company.
