Dow sales hurt by weak euro

The chemical giant's Q4 EPS rose 31% from a year earlier to 85 cents, beating views by 16 cents. Revenue dipped to $14.38 bil, just shy of expectations for $14.48 bil. Higher sales volumes — up 4% in developed regions, 5% in emerging ones — were offset by falling prices and a weaker euro. Sales at Dow Chemical's (DOW) large Performance Plastics division fell 3% to $5.5 bil on lower oil prices. Shares rose 4.6% to 45.01.
