REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

DPR Construction, one of the nation’s leading technical builders focused on highly complex and sustainable projects, has earned #10 on FORTUNE’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America rankings this year. With a focus on shared leadership and responsibility, DPR continues to instill a culture that values trust in the individual and a drive to change the world. As one of the nation’s top 25 commercial builders, DPR has grown from a Silicon Valley startup 24 years ago to a multi-sector technical contractor with offices across the U.S. DPR emphasizes an entrepreneurial spirit focused on taking smart risks and approaching projects with creativity and research-driven insight.

“Hire, inspire, develop and grow the best people has always been and continues to be one of the primary goals of DPR. As an employee-owned company, we take great pride in constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation in the construction industry while delivering quality work to our customers,” said Doug Woods, co-founder and president of DPR Construction. “As we move forward, we must continue to invest in our people and provide opportunities for employees to grow beyond what they think is possible. We’re very proud to be recognized as one of the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ for the fifth year in a row.”

The annual FORTUNE survey conducted with the Great Place to Work© Institute is the most extensive employee survey in corporate America, polling employees from companies nationwide about their company culture, credibility of management, individual respect, fairness, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The employee survey results accounted for two-thirds of DPR’s score. The other third was based on responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which included detailed questions regarding pay and benefit programs, as well as open-ended questions about hiring, communication, training and diversity.

“One of the four core values [at DPR Construction] is enjoyment and it is continuously stated that ‘If you are not enjoying what you are doing, we must be doing something wrong.’ DPR truly wants us to enjoy our work and want to come to work each and every day,” said a DPR employee during DPR’s annual Employee Satisfaction Survey (ESS), which maintains employee anonymity and is conducted by a third party.

Central to this achievement is DPR’s company purpose: “We Exist to Build Great Things,” and its core values of Integrity, Enjoyment, Uniqueness, and Ever Forward. Additionally, DPR has long been recognized for its progressive employee practices. From customized wellness programs, a Phantom Stock program, extended time off and a refreshed companywide innovation program, DPR has made the wellbeing of employees a priority. Founded in 1990 by Doug Woods, Peter Nosler and Ron Davidowski (the D, P and R), DPR has grown to a multi-billion-dollar, national general contractor and construction manager that has built long-standing relationships with some of the world’s most admired companies. DPR ranked on the FORTUNE 100 Best list in 2010 at #57, in 2011 at #22, in 2012 at #13 and in 2013 at #15.
