Medtronic rose $3.19 or 6.4 percent, to $53.08.
St. Jude Medical Inc. rose $.45 or 1.0 percent, to $47.17.
Stryker rose $.49 or .7 percent, to $69.22.
Zimmer Holdings Inc. rose $.70 or .9 percent, to $81.51.
