General Electric Co. rose $.09 or .4 percent, to $23.98.
Snap-On rose $.75 or .8 percent, to $100.25.
Stanley Works rose $1.35 or 1.5 percent, to $91.92.
Whirlpool Corp. fell $1.13 or .8 percent, to $145.31.
