General Electric Co. rose $.05 or .2 percent, to $23.32.
Snap-On rose $.96 or 1.1 percent, to $91.80.
Stanley Works rose $1.16 or 1.4 percent, to $81.63.
Whirlpool Corp. rose $1.67 or 1.3 percent, to $129.77.
