Today's calendar focuses on two minor economic reports, ahead of more important events later in the week. Corporate earnings reports will be active as well.
The Chicago Federal Reserve will announce its regional economic index at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by existing home sales for March at 10 a.m. ET. Economists forecast sales at an annualized 5.01 million pace, up from 4.98 million the previous month.
Attention shifts to the global economy in the overnight session, with purchasing managers reports coming from China, Germany, France, and the Eurozone. Tomorrow's U.S. data focuses on real estate, with the FHFA house price index and new home sales on tap. Apple also reports earnings after the closing bell.
Wednesday brings quarterly results from Boeing and durable-goods orders. Thursday features 3M's numbers and initial jobless claims. The week concludes with first-quarter gross domestic product Friday morning.
