BOSTON, Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Enhanced Equity Income Fund (EOI), a diversified closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months and nine months ended June 30, 2013. The Fund's fiscal year ends on September 30, 2013.

For the three months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $1,024,750 ($0.026 per common share). For the nine months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $3,940,108 ($0.100 per common share). In comparison, for the three months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $1,158,806 ($0.029 per common share). For the nine months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $3,013,704 ($0.075 per common share). 

Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended June 30, 2013 were $3,761,229 ($0.088 per common share) and net realized and unrealized gains for the nine months ended June 30, 2013 were $38,631,118 ($0.980 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended June 30, 2012 were $15,333,917 ($0.390 per common share) and net realized and unrealized gains for the nine months ended June 30, 2012 were $73,131,127 ($1.830 per common share).

On June 30, 2013, net assets of the Fund were $508,797,434. The net asset value per common share on June 30, 2013 was $12.98 based on 39,193,049 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on June 30, 2012, net assets of the Fund were $489,858,895. The net asset value per common share on June 30, 2012 was $12.26 based on 39,970,049 common shares outstanding.
