EBay Q4 Earnings Preview

eBay Inc (NASDAQ: EBAY) is scheudled to release Q4 2014 earnings after the market close on Wednesday. Analysts expect revenue of $4.93 billion with EPS of $0.89.

Stifel's Scott Devitt was among the analysts who expected eBay’s EPS to match consensus. On December 8, the firm upgraded eBay to Buy with a $65 price target.

Benchmark analyst Daniel L. Kurnos estimated revenue at $4.891 billion and EPS at $0.89, “just below the midpoint of guidance for 4Q14” despite what he believed “was a very robust online holiday shopping period.”

Kurnos believed “there is intrinsic upside to the current share price given the pending PayPal spin, with our sum of the parts analysis yielding a consolidated value of $64 per share even ascribing a discounted multiple of 11x to the Marketplaces unit.”

Over the past month, shares of eBay are down 6.37 percent. Shares recently traded at $53.62, down 0.11 percent.
