VISTA, Calif., March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (ECOB) announced today that ECOB Affiliate Guthrie Lumber and Distribution, Inc., located in Austin Texas, has received Eco Red ShieldTM protected lumber coating orders in excess of five-hundred thousand board feet. This increase in production for the Company's growing Affiliate Network supports the paradigm shift away from unprotected lumber products, industry-wide. Moreover, the increase in Affiliate sales represents an increase in the Company's chemical production to support the demand for this technically advanced building material nationwide.
"After several years of providing Eco Red Shield protected lumber to custom homebuilders, we are beginning to see the paradigm shift that Steve Conboy has been referring to. Investors of these multi-family residential projects are recognizing the value-added by building with protected lumber; not only with regard to their investments, but more importantly for the safety of their tenants. We are seeing the domino effect in action as supported by the architects, private equity firms and general contractors from each of these projects contacting us for supplemental information in preparation for their next projects," says Greg Guthrie, President, Guthrie Lumber and Distribution, Inc. "Currently, we are one month out on coating orders, and in the process of rolling out a second shift providing adequate production to meet the increase in demand. Our plans now are to introduce Eco Red Shield to the assisted living and student housing sectors of the industry; both of which would greatly benefit from the value-added protection Eco Red Shield provides," added Guthrie.
Also experiencing a similar increase in sales and production is ECOB Affiliate, Rocky Mountain BluWood of Denver, Colorado. With the effects of wildfire in the not too distant past, Eco Red Shield protected lumber represents a safe, cost-effective alternative to unprotected lumber.
Several recent projects specifying the inclusion of Eco Red Shield protected lumber have been keeping the coating facility running around the clock. Custom home rebuilds from the Waldo Canyon fires to a multifamily project going vertical in front of Coors Field in Denver. Our projects have been supplied by Direct Lumber and Door of Denver, CO. Direct Lumber has been ordering truckloads of Eco Red Shield as the new environmentally friendly plate material, the alternative to traditional pressure treated lumber for sale in the lumber yard.
"Eco Affiliates are starting to show up all around the country with orders like this. Creating an Affiliate Network capable of supporting this movement was a component of our national rollout plan since inception. As a result of the success our Affiliates our experiencing in their markets, Eco has been afforded the ability to support the expanding consumer base nationwide, ultimately empowering Homeowners, Builders and Contractors to embrace defensive building practices rather than building with raw lumber," says Steve Conboy, President/CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc.
