EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2013) - On Tuesday, April 23, 126 teams in 9 cities across Canada will fan out, handing out over $25,000 in two-dollar coins - the cost of a bank's typical ATM surcharge fee. These brand ambassadors are part of ding free® day, a nationwide campaign to highlight how Canadians can avoid getting "dinged" by their financial institutions and see the benefit of being a member of a credit union.
As part of the ding free ATM network, credit union members have access to thousands of surcharge -free ATMs across Canada - saving them hundreds of toonies each year.
And to demonstrate how active they are their communities, Canada's credit unions are also donating $2 - up to $25,000 in total - on behalf of every member who downloads the ding free® ATM locator app (www.ding-free.ca), to their choice of one of three Canadian charities: the Terry Fox Foundation, the Rick Hansen Foundation or the Trans Canada Trail Foundation.
This free money blitz is sure to generate dynamic photo and video opportunities, so get your news crews ready. A media release and photos will also be issued tomorrow, and credit union representatives are available for interviews.
