BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Eco Power Solutions, the leading provider of advanced multi-pollutant emission control and energy recovery systems, today announced that Thomas J. Bartolomei has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 28, 2011. Bartolomei most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer and SVP for AREVA Solar Inc. (formerly venture backed Ausra Inc.), overseeing global project execution, business development, and marketing.
“Tom will lead Eco Power Solutions to the next phase,” said Hull McKinnon, Altira Group partner and Eco Power Solutions board member and investor. “Eco Power Solutions’ technology has been demonstrated and validated as the most cost effective, multi-pollutant control equipment technology on the market today and the company now has an industry veteran at the helm to lead the company into broad commercialization.”
“Tom comes to Eco Power Solutions with more than 20 years’ experience in all facets of the power generation industry from project development to EPC construction and on a global scale.” said Steve Foster, Altira Group partner and Eco Power Board member. “He was instrumental in the scale up and commercialization of solar thermal leader Ausra, Inc., which was eventually acquired by the large energy conglomerate, AREVA in 2010. This is exactly the type of experience Eco Power Solutions needs.”
Prior to AREVA Solar Inc., Bartolomei held various positions with progressively responsible roles with Alstom Power, a leading OEM of boilers, emission control equipment, steam and gas turbines. Bartolomei also held a senior leadership position with Burns and Roe Enterprises, an internationally recognized EPCO firm based out of Oradell, NJ where he was responsible for the global sales and marketing activities of the firm. He also served as the General Manager of Burns and Roe Asia, Ltd with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. Bartolomei holds a bachelor’s degree of science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA.
“We’re thrilled that Tom is joining us to lead our team and company to the next stage” said Wayne Littleford, Eco Power Solutions’ CTO and founder. “To have reached this moment where we are poised for rapid growth is any entrepreneur’s dream coming true.”
“I am excited to join and lead the executive team of Eco Power Solutions,” said Bartolomei. “The technology and cost position of Eco Power Solutions’ system is solid. There exists a robust power and industrial market that needs a cost effective solution to address progressively tightening emission requirements from all fossil generating assets both new and existing and Eco Power has that answer and solution.”
