INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Drugmaker Eli Lilly and Co. said Thursday its general counsel, Robert Armitage, will retire at the end of the year and be replaced by deputy general counsel, Michael Harrington.
The company said Harrington will be promoted to senior vice president and general counsel effective Jan. 1, 2013. Harrington currently leads legal functions across Lilly's five business units. In his new role, he will report directly to the company's CEO, John Lechleiter.
Shares of Eli Lilly & Co. fell 33 cents to $44.84.
