SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 6, 2012) - At Greenbuild 2012 (November 14-16, Moscone Center, San Francisco) the EnOcean Alliance and members will present intelligent building automation solutions that communicate wirelessly and without batteries. At joint booth 407S (South Hall), Alliance members EnOcean, Verve Living Systems (a ZENO Controls company), YTL and Capital Review Group will showcase how buildings can achieve 20 to 40 percent energy savings by utilizing energy harvesting wireless systems. The products based on this self-powered technology are maintenance-free and offer a quick and easy installation as well as unique flexibility.
EnOcean Alliance is a non-profit organization that promotes the interoperable, international EnOcean radio standard, which helps to make buildings smarter and more energy efficient. Currently there are more than 300 companies worldwide that belong to the Alliance, providing more than 1000 interoperable products that utilize this energy harvesting wireless technology. The basis for the communication standard resides in the ability for EnOcean-enabled devices to harvest energy from their surrounding environment, like motion, indoor light or temperature differentials. These ultra-low power products are therefore able to be self-powered and don't need to rely on batteries, which makes them maintenance-free.

EnOcean, the originator of the patented energy harvesting wireless sensor technology, will present its Dolphin platform. The Dolphin system offers a complete plug&play architecture combining micro-energy converters with ultra-low power electronics and reliable wireless communication. EnOcean modules based on this platform enable manufacturers (OEMs) to create self-powered wireless sensor solutions that are fundamental for managing energy efficiently in commercial and industrial buildings as well as smart homes.
Verve Living Systems, a ZENO Controls company and promoter of the EnOcean Alliance, will demonstrate its energy harvesting wireless product suite, which provides intuitively simple control of lights, outlets and temperature. Occupancy sensing controls maximize energy efficiency with turning lights off and adjusting the temperature when spaces are not in use. Verve products are easy to install and require no ongoing maintenance, which saves time and money. In combination with the ZENO gateway systems, the products can be plugged into networks based on other communication protocols such as BACnet or TCP/IP. At the show, ZENO and Verve Living Systems will demonstrate examples of hotel and school building application-specific system packs.
YTL, a main partner of EnOcean from China, presents eKontrol, an intelligent home lighting control system for end users. The solution consists of an EnOcean-based intelligent controller, wireless actuators, EnOcean-based switches and occupancy sensors. With this solution users can control home lighting even with smart devices (including smart phones, tablets, and PCs) in any way they like. One main benefit of eKontrol is a very easy installation and a do-it-yourself configuration without support of a professional service.
Capital Review Group (CRG) is a specialized consulting firm combining facility engineering with tax accounting to discover and develop high-value projects related to energy efficiency. At the event, CRG will show how building owners, tenants, contractors or architects can take advantage of the incentive tax benefits of being involved in new construction or renovation of commercial buildings. One such tax benefits that CRG leverages to energy efficient construction or improvement is found in section 179D of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. It is available to building owners when retrofitting their properties with energy efficient products based on energy harvesting wireless technology, for instance.
