Enphase-My Generation Energy Tie Up for 900kW Solar Farm - Analyst Blog
Enphase Energy, Inc. ENPH joined forces with My Generation Energy, Inc., a southeastern Massachusetts-based solar installer and developer, to build the Sippican Community Solar Garden in Marion, MA. This commissioned 900-kilowatt-DC commercial project is the largest North American installation to date featuring Enphase’s advanced C250 Microinverter System.
My Generation began construction of the Sippican Community Solar Garden in Jan 2015. 3,200 Enphase C250 microinverters and LG Solar photovoltaic modules were integrated onto a Unirac ground-mount array and it was completed and interconnected to the grid in April.
Specially designed and built for commercial projects, Enphase Energy’s C250 Microinverter incorporates its microinverter technology to support three-phase 480VAC installations for 60- and 72-cell PV modules. Sippican Community Solar Garden is expected to generate 1,200 Megawatt (MW) hours of green electricity annually.
Increasing carbon emissions from the power sector have earned strong censure from the regulators. The emphasis on clean energy has led to increased usage of renewables in the generation mix.
A recent report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicated that renewables used in the electric power sector will grow by 2.6% in 2015. EIA projects U.S. solar usage to rise by nearly 30% from the 2014 level of 0.427 quadrillion BTU to 0.607 quadrillion BTU in 2016.
We believe strategic partnerships with module makers, solar developers and utility companies will be a key for successfully implementing large scale solar projects.
China-based JinkoSolar Holding Co. JKS has entered into a supply agreement with Vivint Solar VSLR, a provider of distributed solar energy to residential customers in the U.S. Jointly these companies aim to provide the highest quality solar systems and services to U.S. customers.
Recently, First Solar FSLR has set a world record for cadmium-telluride (CdTe) photovoltaic (PV) module conversion efficiency, achieving 18.6% aperture efficiency for an advanced full size module. First Solar’s new achievement will help to lower solar project cost.
