MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (AP) -- The Ensign Group Inc. said Tuesday that it has acquired Paris Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a 150-bed skilled nursing facility in Paris, Texas, for an undisclosed sum.
Ensign, based in Mission Viejo, Calif., provides urgent-care, assisted-living, rehabilitative and other services at 105 health care facilities, four hospice companies and six home health businesses in the western and central United States.
The company said the deal, which closed Friday, expands its reach in northeast Texas.
Its subsidiary Keystone Care Inc. will operate the Paris facility. Ensign believes the purchase will bring it a profit within its fiscal 2012.
Shares of the company fell 59 cents after hours, erasing a gain of the same amount made during regular trading, which they ended at $25.99. The announcement came after the markets closed.
