LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Entergy Corp. says more than 10,000 customers are without power in the southern half of Arkansas.

Wind gusts from Isaac reached almost 50 mph in places after the tropical system trundled into Arkansas on Thursday morning.

About 1,700 are without power in Jefferson Counties and about 1,400 customers are without lights in Chicot and Pulaski counties.

Outages have been reported in 35 of Arkansas' 75 counties. They span east to west across the southern half of the state.

Entergy Arkansas, the state's largest electric utility, says crews will assess damage and start restoring power when conditions allow it to be done safely.

Isaac is forecast to be clear of the state on Friday.
