PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) -- Entergy Corp.'s Pilgrim nuclear power plant in Plymouth, Mass. is back online following a two-day shutdown to investigate a minor leak at a valve on a steam-carrying pipe.
Entergy said that Pilgrim was reconnected to the electric transmission grid just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The plant was manually shut down at about 5:45 p.m. Monday to investigate a minor leak associated with a pilot valve on one of the plant's four safety relief valves. Plant technicians replaced the valve.
There was no threat to public safety.
Monday's shutdown came four days after the 685-megawatt plant came back online following a seven-day shutdown prompted by the failure of an electrical relay that caused two water recirculation pumps to automatically turn off.
