Major equity indexes were again higher yesterday, though little-changed at the end of the session.
The S&P 500 was up 2 points to 1655.08. The high of the day came in the first hour of trade as it topped 1659. The SPX has resistance at 1670 and support at 1627.
The Nasdaq 100 was up 5.40 points to 3129.94, the highest close since its 13-year closing high from Aug. 13. It has resistance at 3149 and support at 3030.
The Russell 2000 was up 3.11 points to 1028.69. Like the SPX, it closed below its 20-day moving average. It has resistance at 1055 and support at 1000.
The VIX ended the day down 0.11 points to 15.77. Its low of 15.63 came in the middle of the day.
The VIX futures finished lower as well. The September futures gave up 0.30 points to close at 16.40, and the October futures fell 0.15 points to 17.40. That had the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Note (:VXX) down 2.02 percent to $16.01.
