LAKE CHARLES, LA--(Marketwire - Mar 5, 2013) - Era Training Center (ETC) is pleased to announce that Randy Rowles, ETC Vice President and General Manager, has been named the recipient of the Helicopter International Association (HAI) W. A. (Dub) Blessing Certified Flight Instructor of the Year Award. Mr. Rowles was nominated by his peers, and will be honored at the Salute to Excellence Awards program on Wednesday, March 6, during HELI-EXPO 2013 in Las Vegas.
Mr. Rowles has served the commercial helicopter industry for more than 25 years with extensive experience in EMS, Corporate, Utility and Flight Training. Having accumulated more than 12,500 flight hours, he was designated as the first Master Certified Flight Instructor (MCFI) for Helicopters in 2010 and was the first MCFI in the State of Texas with more than 6000 flight hours of instruction given. Mr. Rowles has held positions including: Vice President of Business Development of Night-Vision Goggle Training Programs for Night Flight Concepts, Senior Flight Instructor Specialist for Bell Helicopter, and Founder of Palm Beach Helicopters, an FAA Part 141 Training School. He has represented the FAA as a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) for 20 years for all helicopter certificates and ratings, and was the first DPE approved for NVG Instructor endorsement issuance. He is a past chairman of the HAI Flight Training Committee and has generously given his time to promote safety through flight training initiatives to numerous helicopter organizations and aspiring pilots.
