In this episode, Tracey is joined by Eric Dutram, Zacks ETF Strategist, and the Editor of ETF Investor, to discuss the world of ETFs.
Eric just attended the yearly ETF Insider ETF conference in Florida, which now attracts thousands of people in the ETF industry. Tracey was eager to hear all the juicy gossip about what ETFs were hot for this year.
But first, she wanted to know how an investor could create an ETF portfolio from basic ETF funds and then how to incorporate some of these “hot” niche products into it.
Tracey and Eric discuss the ways an investor could buy a broad market index like the Vanguard S&P 500 (VOO). Eric also likes the Schwab indexes because they have the lowest expense ratio in the business at just 0.03%. He likes the Schwab Broad Market ETF (SCHB).
If you want to include bonds in the mix, there are ETFs that combine both stocks and bonds, including the iShares Core Moderate Allocation (AOM).
But Tracey really wants to know about the hot ETFs. What should she be looking at in 2017?
The Hottest ETFs in 2017
PureFunds ISE Cybersecurity ETF (HACK) has been one of the more popular niche ETFs for the last year. It remains a top choice in 2017. Eric also provides 3 other technology-related ETFs that you should keep an eye on this year.
BlueStar TA-BIGITech Israel Tech ETF (ITEQ) puts all of Israel’s high-tech companies into one place. The country has been at the forefront of cybersecurity and drones.
