Euro little changed against the dollar as initial Italian election results come in

NEW YORK (AP) -- The euro is little changed against the dollar as investors await the outcome of the Italian general election.

Early results show that the race is very close, raising the possibility of new elections which could derail efforts to resolve Italy's fiscal problems.

The euro slipped slightly to $1.3176 in afternoon trading from $1.3180 late Friday.

The British pound rose to $1.5134 from $1.5242.

The dollar was unchanged at 93.42 Japanese yen.
