Express Scripts, Teva Pharmaceuticals Drop into Tuesday’s 52-Week Low Club

April 25, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 63 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday's session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 2 to 1 and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by a bit more than 2 to 1.

Express Scripts Holding Co. (ESRX) dropped about 14% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $57.80 after closing at $67.25 on Monday. The stock's 52-week high is $80.02. Volume was more than 7 times the daily average of more than 4.4 million shares traded. The company said today that it is losing its biggest client.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. (TEVA) dropped 5% Tuesday to post a new low of $30.22 after closing at $31.60 Monday night. The stock's 52-week high is $56.91. Volume was about 60% above the daily average of around 9 million shares. The company's CFO is reported to be leaving.

Range Resources Corp. (RRC) dropped about 3.4% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $26.25 after closing Monday at $27.23. The stock's 52-week high is $46.96. Volume of around 9.6 million shares was about double the daily average of around 4.8 million. The company reported first-quarter results last night and investors were not pleased. Shares have recovered, however, and appear set to close the day up about 1%.

Nielsen Holdings plc (NLSN) posted a new 52-week low of $38.32 on Tuesday, down about 7.9% compared with Monday's closing price of $41.59. The stock's 52-week high is $55.94. Volume of about 8 million shares was nearly 3 times the daily average of around 2.7 million shares. The company missed revenue estimates when it reported results this morning and even a dividend boost couldn't keep some investors in line.
