IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. said Wednesday it will increase its second-quarter dividend by 21 percent from what it paid in the first quarter.
The Irving, Texas, oil giant will pay 57 cents per share on June 11 to shareholders of record on May 14. That's up 10 cents from the 47 cents per share it paid in the first quarter.
Exxon will report first-quarter financial results on Thursday. Analysts expect relatively flat earnings growth from Exxon this year following a plunge in natural gas prices. The company is expected to earn $2.10 per share in the first quarter, according to FactSet, compared with $2.14 per share earned in the same period last year.
Exxon Mobil shares rose 17 cents to $86.48 in afternoon trading.
