Factory orders and auto sales are the main items on today's agenda.
The Commerce Department will announce the factory data for May at 10 a.m. ET. Economists expect growth of 2 percent, up from 1 percent in April. The report seldom moves markets because it mostly consists of numbers already known from the durable-goods release.
Auto makers will also announce monthly sales data for June during the day, which could affect trading in companies such as Ford and General Motors.
Tomorrow's calendar is more active, dominated by the ADP private-sector payrolls report at 8:15 a.m. ET. The market also closes early tomorrw before the Independence Day holiday on Thursday.
