In an attempt to enhance its product range and ensure optimum consumer value, Family Dollar Stores Inc. (FDO) announced the addition of over 400 new varieties of food in its stores on a nationwide basis.

Moreover, this self service retail discount store chain will provide nearly 1,000 daily needed items at discounted prices, covering brands like Hellman’s, Ragu, Kraft, and others. These discounted items will be found in many product categories of the departmental store, including home cleaning, laundry care, house wares, apparel and food.

The company’s new food offering will be endorsed and advertised by Pat Neely, a popular television celebrity, chef and best-selling writer.

Some of these events include a challenge to come up with an exclusive recipe, using which a meal for 4 can be prepared for merely $15. The winner would get the exclusive opportunity to cook with Pat Neely at his Memphis home. Alongside, the company will hold a unique joint-program with Feeding America. This promotional event aims at providing children with their first healthy meal of the day.

According to Family Dollar’s new ambassador, who stressed on the importance of home made food, the newly added assortments are perfect to facilitate scrumptious cooking at eased prices. This goes hand in hand with the company’s motive of enhancing customer value by ensuring the availability of all the required National Brands and products at its stores.

Family Dollar is a discount retail chain, which operates over 8,100 general merchandise stores in 46 states. Based in North Carolina, the company offers general merchandise in four categories namely, Consumables, Home Products, Apparel and Accessories, and Seasonal and Electronics.
