Shares of Advanced Cell Technology are up more than 30 percent this year - although they are down more than 20 percent over the last month. Earlier this week Advanced Cell Technology announced that a third patient has been treated for Stargardt's macular dystrophy in its US. Phase I/II clinical trial. Stargardt's disease or Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy is a genetic disease that causes progressive vision loss, usually starting in children between 10 to 20 years of age.

    Your second paragraph is just plain wrong. ACTC is doing the work with Dry AMD andd Stargardt's.

      Stem is now doing a very similar trial to ACT using a d slightly different cell type. Not too suprising given the value a macular degeneration cure would have.
