A Food and Drug Administration panel which is set to meet Feb. 23 to discuss the safety of a treatment for breathing complications related to COPD, from Forest Laboratories (FRX) and Almirall, questioned whether the drug may be related to a higher incidence of cardiovascular deaths at higher doses, reported Bloomberg. A spokesman for Forest said that the number of cardiovascular deaths in the group taking the drug “does not rise to the level of a clear safety signal,” the report added.
