Chrysler sales leap 40 percent as comeback continues

DETROIT (AP) -- Chrysler Group LLC said February U.S. car and truck sales rose 40 percent as all of its brands saw gains.

BY THE NUMBERS: Chrysler sold 133,521 cars and trucks, up from 95,102 a year earlier.

TOP SELLERS: Chrysler sold 22,595 Ram pickups, up 21 percent from February of 2011. It was the automaker's most popular model during the month.

HOT MODELS: Jeep Grand Cherokee sales rose 47 percent to almost 12,724. But car sales showed the biggest increases. Chrysler 200 midsize sedan sales more than quadrupled to 9,717. The 300 luxury sedan saw sales that were almost six times more than a year earlier — at 7,670.
