Fiat extends temporary layoffs at Italian plant, AP reports

Fiat (FIATY) is extending its temporary layoffs of 5,500 workers at a plant in Southern Italy to "realize the investment of around EUR1B" the company made in the plant, which currently makes the Punto compact car and is scheduled to make new SUV models starting in late 2014, according to an AP report.
