American Express Co. fell $.53 or .9 percent, to $55.81.

Capital One Financial Corp. fell $.59 or 1.1 percent, to $51.13.

Discover Financial Services rose $.11 or .3 percent, to $32.73.

Mastercard fell $5.87 or 1.4 percent, to $413.96.

Visa Inc. fell $.40 or .3 percent, to $119.37.
