Aflac Inc. fell $.46 or 1.2 percent, to $39.22.

American International Group fell $.42 or 1.4 percent, to $28.99.

MBIA fell $.06 or .7 percent, to $8.44.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.12 or 5.0 percent, to $2.28.

MetLife fell $.32 or 1.0 percent, to $30.33.

XL Group PLC fell $.19 or .9 percent, to $20.25.
