Comcast Corp. rose $.31 or .8 percent, to $40.39.
Walt Disney Co. rose $.80 or 1.2 percent, to $65.29.
Gannett unchanged at $24.96.
New York Times Co. rose $.01 or .1 percent, to $10.55.
News Corp. rose $.33 or 1.1 percent, to $31.71.
Time Warner Inc. rose $.95 or 1.6 percent, to $58.89.
Viacom Inc. rose $.90 or 1.3 percent, to $68.89.
