NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of some top supermarkets companies were up at the close of trading:
Kroger rose $.35 or 1.0 percent, to $35.42.
Safeway rose $.14 or .6 percent, to $25.15.
Supervalu rose $.26 or 3.9 percent, to $6.95.
Whole Foods Market Inc. rose $1.73 or 1.7 percent, to $103.77.
