NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of some top supermarkets companies were up at the close of trading:
Kroger rose $.26 or 1.2 percent, to $22.41.
Safeway rose $.39 or 2.1 percent, to $19.22.
Supervalu rose $.10 or 2.1 percent, to $4.76.
Whole Foods Market Inc. rose $.85 or 1.0 percent, to $87.27.
