TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- First Solar Inc. said Friday that it named Georges Antoun as its chief operating officer.
The Tempe, Ariz.-based solar panel maker said that in the newly created position, Antoun will initially be responsible for manufacturing, research and development, quality and product management.
Antoun, 49, was most recently a venture partner at the private equity firm Technology Crossover Ventures. Previous to that, he served as Ericsson's head of product area IP and broadband networks.
First Solar shares rose 23 cents to $14.98 in morning trading.
