MADISON, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Fiskars, the World’s #1 Scissors Brand™, has joined with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA®) for the fifth consecutive year to become the official net-cutting scissors during the 2013 NCAA® Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.
The iconic Orange-Handled Scissors will be used by winning teams in the post game net-cutting ceremonies for the NCAA® Division I Men's and Women's Basketball regional championship and Final Four games. In addition to the famous Fiskars ergonomic orange handles, the special edition scissors have serrated, gold titanium blades that are specially etched with the NCAA® logo.
Following the championship games, each of the winning institutions will keep one pair of the commemorative scissors for permanent display on campus.
“With the NCAA celebrating 75 years of March Madness, it’s a great time to be a part of the excitement,” said Fiskars Americas President Paul Tonnesen. “Over the years we have watched countless teams hoist themselves to the irons and cut down the nets in a celebration unparalleled by any collegiate sport. This year, we’ll once again join teams and fans throughout the nation celebrating a hard-fought season by cutting down the nets with nothing but the best.”
For the first year, Fiskars was also the official net-cutting scissors for the NCAA® Volleyball Tournament in 2012.
Fiskars has been recognized for excellence in cutting tools for over 360 years. The Original Orange-Handled Scissors™ from Fiskars are part of the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
