FLIR Systems Secures $19.5M US Homeland Security Deal - Analyst Blog

Premium technology company FLIR Systems, Inc. FLIR lately secured a $19.5-million deal from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Marking the second phase of a procurement agreement with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (‘’CBP’’), the contract also reinforces the company’s five-year firm-fixed price pact with the authorities. FLIR Systems intends to deliver the contract over the next 12 months.

As per the deal, FLIR Systems would provide its Mobile Surveillance Capabilities (‘‘MSC’’) system to CBP of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. MSC system is a specialized variation of integrated mobile detection and surveillance vehicle. It comprises the company’s rare TacFLIR 380HD long-range stabilized multi-sensor system, and is designed for use in both day and night in the southern border of the U.S.

FLIR Systems designs, produces and markets non-imitable sensor systems that support better awareness and perception on a whole. These systems are used in a wide variety of security applications, thermal imaging as well as situational awareness domains like airborne & ground-based surveillance, drug interdiction and environmental monitoring. We believe the contract, apart from enhancing FLIR Systems’ advanced surveillance manufacturing capability, would also fortify its organic growth trajectory.
