LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Ford is demanding that rival General Motors pull a Super Bowl commercial that implies the Chevrolet Silverado pickup is more dependable than the Ford F-Series.

But GM stands by the ad and says it will run during Sunday's game.

In the ad, a driver in a Silverado navigates a post-apocalyptic scene. When he meets up with some friends, he notices one is missing. It turns out that friend was driving a Ford.

GM says R.L. Polk data shows Silverados remain on the road longer than other pickups. But Ford says it has the most pickups with 250,000 miles (400,000 kilometers) on them.

Ford may have the last laugh. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in the U.S. for 35 years, and outsold the Silverado by nearly 70,000 trucks last year.

SOMEBODY please look up the facts, i have been calling jd powers and edmunds for 10 years getting the sale numbers. anybody that has read 4 wheeler or 4 wheel offroad their whole life would also know. chevy and GMC are the same truck, they dont sell gmc cars. they HAVE for the last 10 years i have checked, out sold ford every year! gm and toyota are the highest 2 car companies in sales world wide, not ford. i have had 27 ford service trucks for work and 27 of them broke. i will never buy a ford!

The shear fact that corporate Ford will not back it's "quality" by enforcing a standard at dealerships leaves ford unreliable. Ford has set up a system that allows the dealships to opporate corruptly while corporate ford will not back their product and force you to deal with the dealership.

Always read what you initial because they'll write stuff you did not say or agree to. If you don't agree with it, do not initial. Pay and demand your vehicle and take it up in court.

Just a few months ago the Obama Regime demanded that Ford remove an advertisement that correctly noted GM's acceptance of bail-out money.

I'd put my lil 93' Ford Ranger w/289,000 miles(along with the F150 too) against any POS chevy.

Then the 95 engine you would have needed a transmission at 70k, a long block at 90k, and fix the leaking seals at 120k. Better off running off a cliff. '95 had the worst engine ford made. Coupled with the lack of corporate owneship supporting croooked dealships, Fords not worth the #$%$ to #$%$ on it.

F%$# Government Motors! They stole from the American taxpayers and now lie about the "quality" of their products! Right. Volts burst into flames and Cruses shipped without brake parts. As I sad, F^%# Government Motors.

hi Davi you're the #$%$ right now because you don't know what you are talking about. 100K jobs would have been lost. also yes tax payers own part of the company because our wise GOv't refuses to sell their shares because they are making money. Now about the Volt our crash geniuses disabled all saftey systems before conducting the crash and the vehicle caught on fire after being left mangled for 3 weeks. so get your facts right before you talk out of your #$%$

Ofcourse Ford sells more trucks then GM because they offer 1,000s extra in rebate. Try to trade one in after a year then you'll get an idea of how much money you lost. Counting rental sales up to $7-8,000 rebates ofcourse you'll sell more thats a no brainer. but combine sales and gm got em beat by a mile
