PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- Gasoline prices in Maine have remained flat in the past week, while the national average dropped by nearly 4 cents a gallon.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail price in Maine is $3.56 a gallon. That's about a penny cheaper than the national average.
GasBuddy.com analyst Patrick DeHaan says prices are moving in different directions in different parts of the county, but he's hopeful most areas will see prices fall for at least the first half of this week.
The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations statewide.
