SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 20, 2013) - Prysm Inc., a designer and manufacturer of videowall systems that deliver immersive and engaging user experiences, today announced that GE's Grid IQ™ Global Innovation Center in Markham, Ontario, with a breathtaking wraparound Prysm videowall, has been honored with three prestigious AV industry awards. Advanced, Canada's premier AV and IT integration company, designed and led installation of the overall AV system at the GE site.
The centerpiece of the GE facility is a 60-foot wide, 7-foot high, 180-degree curved Prysm Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) videowall. The stunning digital canvas, realized with the LPD videowall, allows customers to take an interactive, immersive look at GE's full suite of energy management tools.
Commercial Integrator Magazine and TechDecisions Media awarded the GE installation its 2013 Integration Award for the Best Corporate Solution category. In the award commentary, they cited the LPD videowall as "the jewel in this crown" for the customer experience center and called its visual impact "jaw-dropping." It delivers the "wow" factor as the centerpiece of what the award described as an "AV tour de force."
In addition, the GE installation received the People's Choice Award in the Best Corporate Solution category. This inaugural award is sponsored by InfoComm International and NewBay Media. Finalists for the award were selected by a panel of industry experts including journalists, technical directors and industry educators with winners determined by the votes of InfoComm 2013 attendees.
Finally, recognized as the industry's best professional AV installation in the Corporate category, the GE facility was honored with the prestigious PRO AV Spotlight Awards. Chosen from entries received in nine categories, the PRO AV Spotlight Awards honor installations that demonstrate excellence in technical design, innovation and success in advancing their customers' mission.
"The response to the GE project has been brilliant, and we're delighted with the recognition for both the system design and the technology," said Mark McPherson, vice president for sales at Advanced. "The Prysm videowall is the centerpiece of the installation, with 180-degree visualization enabling complete immersion, true to life colors and a system which will be sustainable for the future."
During the evaluation phase of the project, GE had researched a number of display alternatives. GE selected Prysm LPD for its ability to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience with outstanding image quality, as well as the industry's leading energy efficiency.
"With LPD videowalls, we can provide our customers with unrivalled capabilities delivering totally immersive and endlessly engaging audience experiences," said Dana Corey, vice president of sales and technical operations at Prysm. "We are extremely proud that our LPD videowall solution is the focal point of this award-winning AV installation that Advanced designed for GE."
Prysm LPD videowalls deliver beautiful, bright images and can scale to more than 100 feet in width while maintaining image uniformity over the entire display area. Multiple users can interact simultaneously with Prysm videowalls through touch, motion sensing and their mobile devices. Thanks to the excellent energy efficiency of LPD technology, Prysm videowalls consume less power and run cooler than any competing display solution.
Recent LPD installations include: Infoblox Silicon Valley Headquarters, Wallenberg Auditorium at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) building in Stockholm, IAC Headquarters in New York, and Dubai Media.
