Giveback Homes Celebrates Its First Birthday and $100,000 in Donations

The Company Surpasses Its Inaugural Annual Goal Raising $100,000 in Donations, Building 21 Homes for Families in Need Across the US and Central America

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2014) - Today Giveback Homes, a network of real estate professionals who have made a commitment to build homes for families in need while differentiating themselves in a competitive industry, celebrates its first birthday, and marks an extremely successful year. In the past 12 months, the company has raised $100,000 in member donations and helped build homes in Los Angeles, Dallas and Nicaragua.

"It's incredibly exciting to see the transformation Giveback Homes has gone through in the past year," says Giveback Homes founder Blake Andrews. "In 12 months we've been able to help 21 hardworking, deserving families change their lives and move into homes of their own. And, for our members it's about more than houses because Giveback Homes provides a way for real estate professionals to differentiate themselves from competitors by showcasing their humanitarian nature." Andrews was inspired to launch the company after a giving trip to Nicaragua with former employer, TOMS. Seeing the impact a pair of shoes could have on a child, he knew giving them a home could provide so much more.

Giveback Homes launched in September 2013, and is experiencing enormous membership growth through a recent partnership with Realty ONE Group. The partnership kicks off in Orange County, Nevada, Arizona and San Diego this week, enabling a network of over 5,000 realtors to donate a portion of their commission to build homes for families in their local communities.

"We're proud to be a part of such an extraordinary organization," said Katie Secrest, Director of Branding and Marketing at Realty ONE Group. "We wanted to find a charitable effort our realtors would take pride in being a part of, and benefit from. When we saw the amount of growth Giveback Homes experienced in its first year, and the way it helps realtors and families in need alike, we knew we'd found the right partner." Realty ONE Group has offices in six states throughout the southwestern U.S. -- all of which will be invited to participate in the project over the next few months.

Giveback Homes operates using a unique business model -- members pay a monthly fee to cover operational costs to ensure 100% of member donations goes directly into the field to build homes. All $100,000 raised by Giveback Homes' members was donated directly to building homes.
