Goldman Sachs Cuts Windstream Price Target

In a report published Monday, Goldman Sachs analysts maintained their Sell rating on Windstream Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: WIN). The price target was lowered from $7.75 to $7.50.

According to the analysts, the change in the price target follows Goldman Sach's decision to price in Windstream Holdings' 19.6 percent stake in Communications Sales & Leasing, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSAL).

The price target was established on the basis of a "50/50 blend of two methods: dividend yield (7.5 percent) and 2016E EV/EBITDA (4.3x). The target multiples are based on peer/historical trading levels," the analysts explained.

Key upside risks to the stock, according to Goldman Sachs, include "accelerated uptake of WIN's broadband bundles, outperformance by WIN in the enterprise channel, a swift recovery in the economy, and potential future industry M&A activity."
