Google's Schmidt defends taxes in U.K., FT reports

In the U.K., Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt defended Google’s tax practices, saying the company would continue to invest in Britain “no matter what” after the Labour leader Ed Miliband criticized the company for going to “extraordinary lengths” to avoid paying tax, reports the Financial Times. Schmidt said it was up to governments, not companies, to set tax rules.
