Strong Guidance for Current Quarter
Hewlett-Packard earned $0.82 a share in its first quarter on revenue of $28.4 billion. Analysts had been expecting only $0.71 and $27.8 billion respectively. Guidance was also strong for the current quarter, sending HPQ up 5 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER extended-hours platform.
Aruba Networks Beats Expectations
Aruba Networks reported profit of $0.22 a share, beating the $0.19 consensus estimate. Revenue of $155.4 million also came in better than the average forecast of $152 million, and forward guidance was above expectations. ARUN surges more than 13 percent in early trading.
WebMD Sees Business Turning Around
WebMD Health's earnings declined in the fourth quarter, but the drop wasn't as bad as feared. Profit fell to $0.08 a share, while analysts had modeled for a loss of $0.04. Revenue of $132.7 million also exceeded the $124.1 million projection. But its web traffic is growing, and its outlook going forward was positive. WBMD 18 percent in early trading.
