China’s avian flu outbreak continued to spread on Wednesday, with two more men reported dead in the city of Hangzhou. Cases have been identified in Shanghai, Anhui, Nanjing, Suqian, Suzhou, Wuxi, and now Hangzhou—a far-flung array of cities that are in some cases separated by hundreds of kilometers.
