MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) -- Harris Corp. said Monday that its board approved an increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend by 4 cents, or 12 percent, to 37 cents.

The Melbourne, Fla.-based communications and technology company said the new dividend will be paid on Sept. 19 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 7.

Harris shares rose 26 cents to $46.79 in morning trading.
