Here's How Dunkin' Donuts Does Instagram

Dunkin' Donuts' latest move to bolster its mobile presence is a Halloween-themed Instagram campaign.

The company asked consumers to decorate their Dunkin' Donuts cups and post the pictures under the hashtag #DresseDD, and people have been getting creative. Dunkin' will announce the five best costumed cups on Halloween, and the winners will receive a $100 mobile gift card.

"We wanted to capture the same spirit of the season that people enjoy in our restaurants to our digital channels as well," Scott Hudler, vice president of global consumer engagement at Dunkin’ Donuts, told "As we continue to drive awareness for our first mobile payment and gifting app, we're offering fans limited edition Mobile Dunkin’ Donuts cards that feature several unique Halloween themed designs."

This initiative comes about two months after Dunkin' Donuts decided to follow in Starbucks' footsteps and launch its first mobile app, which allows customers to pay using their smartphones. The feature is available in almost all of its 7,000 U.S. locations.
