The most notable positions the fund traded in 1Q 2014 are outlined in the table below. The size of Berkshire Hathaway’s U.S. long portfolio increased slightly, from $104.8 billion in 4Q 2013 to $105.77 billion in 1Q 2014.
Berkshire Hathaway started a new position in Verizon Communications (VZ) and upped its holdings in Liberty Global Plc-Series C (LBTYK), Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT), International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), and DaVita Healthcare Partners (DVA). The positions the fund trimmed included Phillips 66 (PSX) and General Motors Co. (GM).
