NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Mar 18, 2013) - Hipcricket®, Inc. ("Hipcricket"), the one-stop mobile advertising and marketing and subsidiary of Augme® Technologies, Inc. (
The mobile program, developed in conjunction with Zaxby's Marketing Director and its advertising agency St. John & Partners, helps franchise owners push in-restaurant promotions and information to a robust database that has grown to approximately 50,000. Zaxby's has the ability to deploy messages to opted-in users by restaurant location, geographic area or to all of its participants at once.
"The interactions via mobile keep us top of mind and help get consumers into our restaurants," said Molly Huff, Director of Marketing for Zaxby's. "We are excited to be able to stay in communication with our guests while they are on the go."
In-store materials in Zaxby's restaurants prompt users to text a keyword into a unique short code (56593). Store codes and short codes appear on:
- Cards at the counter where guests order.
- Cards on the tables.
- Signage along the drive-thru.
- Bag stuffers for both in-restaurant and drive-thru orders.
"Zaxby's is wise to promote the mobile program in store and outside its restaurants," said Doug Stovall, Hipcricket Executive Vice President - Sales and Services. "With such choice when it comes to restaurant options, a growing opt-in database gives Zaxby's another effective way to compete and win."
An alternative to fast food, Zaxby's offers its guests prepared-at-order Chicken Fingerz, Traditional or Boneless Wings, sandwiches, Zalads and Zappetizers, along with a variety of nine sauces ranging from Wimpy and Tongue Torch to Nuclear and Insane. Childhood friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley hatched the Athens, Ga.-based chain in 1990 to provide a fun, relaxing atmosphere that would keep guests coming back for more. The company ranked number seven in the 2012 Top 10 Excellent Large Fast-Food Chains With 500 Or More U.S. Units Quick-Track study published by Sandelman & Associates. The chain also ranked number five in the nation for total sales and number one in the chicken segment in the 2012 Top 150 Fast-Casual Chain Restaurant Report published by Technomic.
