KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwired - Nov 5, 2013) - Hipcricket, Inc. (
Through Hipcricket's AD LIFE® platform, YTH (formerly ISIS) and the Oregon Health Authority have built an opt-in database for HIV/STD testing, medication and prescription refill reminders, as well as weekly educational health tips. Enrolling for the mHealth alerts is free with standard text rates applying. All information stored in the system is secure, private and HIPAA compliant. The program is completely voluntary and a subscriber can choose to opt-out at any time.
Deb Levine, M.A., president and founder of YTH, said, "It's been proven that a simple reminder can improve medication adherence and overall health and wellness, ultimately reducing HIV transmission within high-risk communities. We are thrilled to be able to offer this mHealth service at the touch of a screen to all residents of the State of Oregon."
A client since 2005, YTH uses Hipcricket's platform to manage SMS messaging, opt-in membership lists, clinic and service locators, informational messages and regular reminders about HIV and STD testing. YTH has always viewed mobile as critical to its communications strategy and has been extremely successful at reaching this audience through opt-in SMS campaigns.
"YTH continues to realize the power of mobile, especially for critical health issues," said Doug Stovall, Hipcricket COO. "The reminders and educational tips for Oregon residents will surely make a difference."
More information on the program can be found at www.oregonreminders.org.
Earlier this year, it was announced that YTH would extend its mobile health program by leveraging Hipcricket's AD LIFE Mobile Site Builder to create campaign and client-specific landing pages accessible through the Mobile Web.
